Pearl River Delta’s 68 million population resulted in the creation of two 150-hectare Artificial Islands, polluting the cities’ coastal borders due to commercial short-sightedness.  This critical alternative scheme to commercial sea reclamation utilises the long-span bridge as foundation to build a colony of greenery. Residual alga is fed into aquacultural farming and wastewater treatment, where it is refined into bio-fuel and pumped into passing cars/cruise ships.
